|
The first floor is reached
via a reclaimed and refurbished
oak staircase leading onto the
mezzanine lounge area with a
full width made to measure
balustrade cut on site from
reclaimed oak overlooking the
kitchen. The mezzanine also
has a window looking out to the
garden and fields beyond. At the
front is the master bedroom
which like the lounge below, has
full width French windows with
Juliet balconies if you fell
like a grand romantic gesture. |
|
Through the wide but low
passageway is the main bathroom
and a large bedroom that can
provide flexible accommodation
with one double and a single/cot
or up to 3 single beds. The
bathroom has a full size bath
with shower attachment, vanity
unit with washbasin, W.C. and a
shower cabinet with extra large
shower head and power jets. |
|
On
the ground floor and reached via
a passage from the dining area
is another double bedroom with
an en-suite wet-room, washbasin
and W.C. This room is ideal
for guests with restricted
mobility as it is all on one
level with its own entrance
direct from the courtyard, wide
enough for most wheelchairs.

In general |
|
The 3 self catering
gites have been created with a
sympathetic renovation of the ancient
barn which was originally in four
separate parts.
As a result the layout has largely been
dictated by the thick stone internal
walls. To maintain the traditional
rustic feel of the barn, we have used as
many reclaimed materials, local oak and
limestone as possible.
All done to offer you that authentic
self catering holiday in France you have
been looking for!
|
|
We have furnished our gites
in a traditional style wherever
possible and have tried to cater
for all types and sizes of
groups but we have spare items
of furniture available should
you need something extra. We
also have travel cots, high
chairs and stair gates but please
let us have your requirements in
advance so we can ensure
availability.
|
|
In each lounge area we have
provided a television with UK
Freesat channels and DVD/CD
player, comfortable sofas, easy
chairs, rugs, occasional tables
and bookcases with a decent
supply and variety of books from
the many we have gathered over
the years. |

1 Bed Gite – La
Rose (The Rose) |
|
|
|
This was
apparently a
dwelling at some
time, perhaps
for farm workers
or more recently
when it was used
for furniture
production, one
of the
cabinet-makers. |

2 Bed Gite – Glycines (Wisteria) |
|
|
|
This gite
incorporates the
remainder of the
stables and the
former hay barn.
This was
originally an
open fronted
barn used for
storing and
drying the hay
and straw. |
